11.05.2009 The Government decided: A mayor is a boss! Decentralization: local mayors will benefit by a greater power. Following police officers and doctors, teachers will subordinate them. The almost 16.000 mayors of all cities and villages, as well as all heads of district councils, will take over
The Government decided: A mayor is a boss!
Decentralization: local mayors will benefit by a greater power. Following police officers and doctors, teachers will subordinate them. The almost 16.000 mayors of all cities and villages, as well as all heads of district councils, will take over the management of key local institutions. The Communitarian Police will change its name into the Local Police and will submit to the mayor’s ferule, decided the Romanian Government, yesterday, in an extraordinary meeting. Hospitals will be run by managers, who at their turn, will subordinate to a mayor or a local council chief. The local elected mayors will be responsible for the way they’ll spend the money budgeted for hospitals and school medical cabinets, including sportive bases. The process of decentralization will continue in school, agricultural and cultural unities.
